THE LATEST BROWSERSIs your browser up to date?We do our best to support several versions of Netscape Communicator/Navigator and Microsoft Explorer. However, some of our features are best enjoyed with the latest browser versions. If you are currently using a 5.0 level browser (for either Macintosh or PC platform), we highly recommend upgrading to at least a 6.0-level browser for Internet Explorer or a 7.0-level browser for Netscape. For specifically recommended version numbers, see below. If you are using Netscape Communicator version 4.05 or earlier, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 for the Macintosh, an additional dialog box will pop up when connecting to the secure pages of Playboy Cyber Club after January 1, 2000. This box will explain that your browser's root CA certificate has expired and your browser will need to be upgraded.
Netscape for PC users click here to upgrade.
Browser Support by PlatformPC BrowsersNetscape BrowsersIf you would like any of the Netscape browsers, you can go to Netscape's download page. Unlike I.E., it is possible to have multiple versions of Netscape on the same computer. To do this, you must install each additional version in a different initial directory. When you click on the install icon, you will be asked in what directory you would like to install the files. It will most likely default to something like programfiles/Netscape. Change this to programfiles/Netscape(Version). You should replace (Version) with the actual version number. You will also have to reinstall your plug-ins if you want to be able to use them in the new browser. If you need to install an additional browser, but aren't sure it is safe, email Playboy Cyber Club Customer Service.
Netscape 7.0It is recommended that you use Netscape 7.0, which is the latest version. You can search for Netscape 7.0 on your favorite download site, or go to the Netscape Download Page.
Netscape 5.0 & Netscape 6.0It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Netscape 7.0. You can search for Netscape 7.0 on your favorite download site, or go to the Netscape Download Page.
Netscape 4.0If you have a 4-level Netscape browser, make sure you have a version above 4.04. If you have this version it is highly recommended that you upgrade. We recommend Netscape 4.08 and 4.61.
Netscape 3.0If you have a 3-level Netscape browser, make sure you have version 3.04. To find out what version you have, you should go to the Help menu at the top of Netscape and choose About Netscape. If you do not have version 3.04, it is highly recommended that you upgrade.
Microsoft BrowsersI.E. 6.0It is recomended for you to use Internet Explorer 6.0, which is the latest version. You can search for it on your favorite download site or, the Microsoft Web Site.
I.E. 5.0This browser is not recommended for navigation in Playboy Cyber Club. If you have this browser you will be unable to register and you may find odd behavior with some of the more advanced features. If you already have this browser and you wish to register you will have to use Netscape or you can contact Playboy Cyber Club Customer Service.
I.E. 4.0You should not have any problems with I.E. 4.0. If you have this browser we do not recommend upgrading to IE5 until a new release has been provided.
I.E. 3.02If you are using IE 3.0 make sure you have version 3.02. If not, you can search for it on your favorite download site, or the Microsoft Web Site. The only disadvantage to this browser is that JavaScript will be interpreted differently from IE 4. We try very hard to prevent you from receiving any errors due to this difference. However, if you are receiving a JavaScript error, please fill out a Bug Report and we will try to fix the problem.Macintosh BrowsersNetscape BrowsersYou should not have any problems using Netscape 3.0- or 4.0-level browsers for Macintosh.
Microsoft BrowsersThere are several versions of IE that are available for the Macintosh. Unfortunately, we cannot support IE 3.01. If you have this browser, we highly recommend that you upgrade to 4.5. You should not have any problems with this browser. |
